Richard B. Cheney an eminent public servant and entrepreneur is vice president of the United States. Cheney, a well-known face on the scene of Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush selected Cheney during the summer of 2000 as his vice-presidential running mate noting Cheney's judgment and insight. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to the President. He also worked in Congress and was Secretary of Defense. Republicans as well as Democrats both respect his integrity. Cheney believes his role in the Bush Administration will be to act as an honest and discreet advisor. Cheney declared his delight at being nominated for the Republican vice-presidential nominee. He stated that the future is bright for him working with a person who is able to work together with people of diverse political beliefs and shared objectives. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on the 30th of January 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old, he moved together with family members into Casper in the western state of Wyoming and his father directed the local soil conservation district in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
