Katherine Heigl shares the ways that growing up living in a white bubble has impacted the way that she parented her adopted multiracial family. Katherine Heigl, the "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in a recent interview that she was told that when it came to skin color -- it didn't matter to her the way she looked when she was younger, but once she talked to her older sister, whom she adopted from South Korea, she realized how different society treated each of the two. "I asked my sister, Meg, if she had been treated one way when she was out in public with our parents and a different way in the time she was on her own without anyone else. Meg said, 'Oh yes, I've seen everything and I've been there all the time! Heigl told her parents it made her realize just how foolish she was. Her anger grew, and she decided to channel her anger into help her adopted daughters. Heigl is engaged to Josh Kelley for 13 years, have a son, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. In 2009, they adopted Nancy Leigh (12), a daughter from South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
